Ed Sheeran tackles a heavy issue in his latest single "Afire Love."  It was written for his grandfather who passed away from Alzheimer's back in December.

The lyrics tell the story of how Sheeran's family learned how to deal with the pain of his grandfather's disease.  The song also recalls how, despite his memory loss, his grandparents' love and commitment remained strong until the end.

Ed told the Telegraph earlier this month that he finished the final part of the track after attending the funeral and seeing his whole family come together.

Ed paid tribute to his grandfather a month after his passing by wearing his tie to the Grammy awards.

"Afire Love" is available for download now, and the new album x arrives on June 23rd.
